“I’ve had sex with lots of guys, but I think I did it mostly out of fear. I was scared not to have somebody putting his arms around me, so I could never say no. That’s all. Nothing good ever came of sex like that. All it does is grind down the meaning of life a piece at a time.”

helpful words from a wise friend: “Identification causes anger, which is usually quite a waste when it comes to injustice. You can do a research and easily find how frustration and anger weakens you. In some strange and awkward way, this terrible situation (severe sex discrimination) allows the ones who want to grow and transform do exactly that”.

I’ve been following the WA-Dylan Farrow story with interest. I am strongly in support of Dylan. I am sickened by the
large support WA has despite mountains of evidence against him. The only “evidence” the WA supporters have, is that “they believe him”. One has to wonder about the machinations of power and privilege here………….

Article from INDIE WIRE: “Auteurs-Any American Women?”

In 100 years of cinema, no American woman director has ever been invited to join the pantheon of international auteur directors. Non-American women directors like Andrea Arnold, Jane Campion, Liliana Cavani, Claire Denis, Marleen Gorris, Agnieszka Holland, Lynne Ramsay, Agnes Varda, Lina Wertmuller among others– directors with bodies of work that match those of their male counterparts– hardly exist in America, with the possible exceptions of masterful experimental directors, Maya Daren and Nina Menkes.

Wheresoever patterns are found, there are complexes at work. Wheresoever complexes are found, history prevails over the present. Wheresoever history prevails over the present, we are stuck. (James Hollis, On This Journey We Call Life, 2003, p.31)

Still beautiful weather, crisp and clear, delicious coffee, and after all “all I know is that I know nothing”……..
